Both the S1 Pro mop and vacuum come with a long-running time. The mop can run for 184 minutes in Quiet Mode and the vacuum can run for 136 minutes in normal mode, prior to having to recharge or returning to the base. 2. Roborock S8 Pro Ultra
The Roborock S8 Pro Ultra, the most recent version of Roborock's top-of-the-line robot vacuum and mop is the most recent version. Unlike last year's model this one has an agitator that doubles in its mopping pad which significantly improves its carpet cleaning capabilities. The S8 Pro Ultra also has an improved suction capacity, allowing it to remove fine hairs and other debris that other robotic cleaners may overlook.
The Roborock model, like the other two models I tested, has infrared and reactive 3D obstacle avoidance technology that helps it overcome obstacles like furniture, walls, and other obstacles. However, the S8 Pro Ultra takes things one step further by incorporating a dual camera that can detect objects and decide whether they're a wall or another surface. It can then change its path automatically and clean them without missing a step.
It's the most expensive robot I've ever tested, but it also has the most features. Its sleek, angular design is attractive and it has just three physical buttons: the power button, which also resumes cleaning; a mop-only button that doubles as a child lock; and a home button to send the robot back to its dock. The hinged lid opens to reveal a 350ml dustbin and 200ml water tank. The water tank will empty itself, and the bin is auto-refilling.
The only negative I discovered with this model was that its VibraRise mop pad mount is not removable. Although you can change the mopping cloth (if necessary) however, it's a hassle to remove the mount itself for manual washing. I've found that any plush carpet that the robot passes will come into contact with the rough Velcro-like fastener mechanism on the mount, and that can cause abrasions.
The S8 Pro Ultra has a variety of smart features which include support for Google Home, Amazon Alexa and Siri. You can configure and manage these via the Roborock app which is also the home of its maps and advanced mopping settings. The app also allows you to schedule cleanings, monitor the life of batteries and maintenance on components. You'll need to jump through a few steps to enable voice control on this model. This is a shame considering the performance otherwise.
3. Dreame X40
The Dreame X40 robot vacuum and mop is a market leader with innovative features, superior suction power and cutting-edge mowing abilities. Its innovative design lets users to tailor and effectively clean while saving time.
